When opening the SUD application some users have seen the following error message. The SUD application then stalls at the Splashscreen.
“The database cannot be opened because the VBA project contained in it cannot be read. The database can be opened only if the VBA project is first deleted. Deleting the VBA project removes all code from modules, forms and reports. You should back up your database before attempting to open the database and delete the VBA project.”
The resolution is to ensure you have up-to-date Microsoft Office software updates installed, specifically MS Office Service Pack 2, by running Windows Update.
See this article about how to determine your current Service Pack level.
This error message will only occur if your MS Office has been reinstalled e.g. after a system failure. This error occurs due to incompatibilities between various Microsoft Access versions and their Service Packs. More details for the insomniacs can be found in Microsoft’s Knowledge Base article #2533794.
